The information day of European Space Agency in Tallinn

On 27th of May, 2015, an information day of the European Space Agency was held in Tallinn. Almost the entire management of the Earth Observation department of the European Space Agency took part in the event.

As Estonia has became a new member of the European Space Agency in 2015, an information was shared mutually to ensure Estonia`s capability to take part in the work of the European Space Agency Earth Observation work in the most efficient way.

There were presentations from both sides. The Estonian scientists introduced their work and capabilities in the field of Earth Observation and the representatives of the European Space Agency introduced the Earth Observation programmes and future plans.

In the afternoon, two-sided meetings were held between the Estonian enterpreneurs and scientists and the representatives of the European Space Agency in order to discuss specific cooperation projects for the recent years.

The program director of the Earth Observation program of the European Space Agency Volker Liebig and the director of’Tartu Observatory Anu Reinart shared their thoughts about Estonia joining the European Space Agency, the deeper meaning of Earth Observation and the future.
